This is a lecture given at the Faculty of Law at the Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. For this reason, the lecturer selected a new style in presenting the Daheshist teachings to explain and clarify the theoretical with real-life miracles.

The author, a former chief-editor of the Egyptian magazine “Al Moussawar,” did not only witness the astounding miracles of Dr. Dahesh, but he went further into researching the nature of the power performing the miracles and its inspired teachings. For this research, he contacted the friends of Dr. Dahesh and his followers and listened to their testimonials. Then he reviewed what Dr. Dahesh had written and what had been written about him and documented his findings in this book.
Yussuf Wahbi, a leading star and master of the Arabic Theater, wrote the Introduction to this book.

In 1942, the author, Sheik Abdullah el-Alaili, one of the great thinkers of the Arab world, met the founder of Daheshism and found him to be a “sincere and generous friend.” He was in fond of the spiritual aspect of Daheshism and the pure brotherhood and “Sufism” that characterized his followers, and their persistence in fighting injustice and restoring rights. He documented all these things in this book.

10- How I Came to Believe in Daheshism

He believed in the Daheshist faith and began preaching its message, but this did not go well with his parents, who opposed his new belief and created a fierce conflict that culminated in a victory for the truth. This is the author’s story about his early days of his life in the new faith and written with fervor.
The book also includes press reports about the miracles of Dr. Dahesh and the persecution campaign mounted against him. Also, three testimonials were added about the founder of Daheshism during the persecution campaign: one by the writer and painting artist, Marie Hadad, the second by the poet, Halim Dammous, and the third by the writer, Yussuf al-Hajj.

A collection of critical studies and essays about the literature of Dr. Dahesh in general and some of his works in particular. The author, at first, surveyed most of Dr. Dahesh’s works, classifying them into genres and then enumerating their aesthetic styles and their appeal by relying on the views of great literati about his works. Next, she turned to specific works by Dr. Dahesh, including Astarte and Adonis. She made a comparative study of this work and Shakespeare’s long poem, Venus and Adonis. Also, she set up a comparison between Dr. Dahesh’s poem The Song of Songs and its biblical counterpart, presenting an analysis of Dr. Dahesh’s new style and the style of the original version. A supplement has been added which contains selections of Dr. Dahesh’s works.

15- Halim Dammous and the Spiritual Aspect in His Literary Works

The Lebanese poet, Halim Dammous (1888-1957), passed through two stages in his life: the first stage is a materialistic one, prior to his belief in Daheshism and the other stage is spiritualistic after his belief in Daheshism. The purpose of this study was to reveal the impact of the spiritual aspect on his poetry—an aspect that is richer and most enduring. The author began by discussing the life and works of Halim Dammous. Then she focused on the spiritual aspect in his literary works and , tracing some of these tendencies into the first stage. She examined its features in the literature of the first stage, then expanded on the themes of his spiritual literature. The author supplemented the book with a selection of poems by the poet, where some of them were never published and still in manuscript form.

When it was published, it wasn’t strange that The Repose of Death was received by the press and men of letters with praise and admiration. The book is a literary and artistic masterpiece, rather a rare and unique work. However, the critics went their different ways in analyzing its songs and symbolic meanings. This book is a collection of these critical reviews and essays by critics and authors about The Repose of Death.

This book consists of tens of opinions and sayings written about the founder of Daheshism. The individuals expressing these opinions differ in their views of him: some admirers place him above the ranks of human beings, some are moderate in their assessment, some are a little bit cautious awaiting history to render its judgment, and there are some who defend against the injustices inflicted on him. However, nearly all of them agree on three matters: the extraordinary personality of Dr. Dahesh, his supernatural power, and the sublime and reforming nature of his message.

20- Lamentations by Authors, Journalists, Statesmen, Clergymen & Others for the Founder of Daheshism

In the middle of 1947, the Lebanese newspapers published news of the execution of Dr. Dahesh in Azerbaijan, north of Iran, providing by way of evidence two photographs of Dr. Dahesh, before and after the execution. The truth is that Dr. Dahesh, at that time, was living inconspicuously in Beirut due to the oppressive persecution by the Lebanese government. As to who was executed and the story behind the press reports, the answer is fully documented in the introduction of this book by Dr. Farid Abou Sleiman, who sheds light on the events leading to the execution.
When news of the death of Dr. Dahesh was publicized, his friends and acquaintances paid tribute to him in eulogies with moving words, enumerating his virtues and merits, as well as his positive influence on them. This book is composed of the total eulogies written, in addition to selections of the handwriting of those who eulogized him.

21- Halim Dammous et al. Lightning Annihilating the Four Musketeers

This book is part of a series titled “In Defense of Dr. Dahesh.” It contains several strongly worded replies to the false allegations put forward by four of the attackers on the founder of Daheshism.
This book represents a new style in critical writing by addressing every phrase, indeed every word, with which the slanderers have falsely accused Dr. Dahesh, and to follow it with harsh criticism. The book is also characterized by its sharp, mocking and satirical style, and judging the slanderers are judged by their own words. This book established a style of refutation and rebuttal previously unknown in Arabic literature.

22. The Miracles of the Founder of Daheshism and His Extraordinary Wonders

This is the first volume in the series. The author narrates how he came to know and believe in the message of Dr. Dahesh, and the inner transformation within himself. He also narrates the miracles he witnessed and performed by the founder of Daheshism over a period of 8-months (May-December 1942).
There are accounts of such miracles as teleportation of and exhibiting control over them, prophecies, revealing secrets, and miraculous headings. The most amazing of these miracles is the restoration of life to the dead and the materialization of a creature from another extra-terrestrial world and his revelation of astounding spiritual truths.
The author does not only recount the miracles, but he also expounds on them, adding his own interpretation or contemplation.
The first believer in the Daheshist faith, Yussuf al-Hajj, preceded Halim Dammous in recording the miracles he had witnessed from March 23, 1942 until May of the same year.

This is the third volume in the Series, The Miracles of the Founder of Daheshism and His Extraordinary Wonders. The painter and author, Marie Hadad, narrates some of the miracles that took place from January 1944 until mid-July of the same year.
In her introduction to the book, Marie Hadad narrates how she and members of her family became acquainted with Dr. Dahesh and believed in his divine message. She also refers to the Daheshist teachings and the significance of the miracle.
The reader finds in this volume several astonishing miracles, such as, having the birds die and then come back to life, the teleportation of golden coins to the hands of the Lebanese Speaker of the House, and the transformation of water into wine. One unique aspect of this book is the interwinding of the account of the miracles with the persecution campaign mounted against Dr. Dahesh – a persecution that started from the time the first spiritual session took place, however, it did not turn violent until after Marie Hadad and her family embraced Daheshism and the rise of Beshara el-Khoury to the presidency of Lebanon

Magda Hadad and her family embraced Daheshism, but this did not go well with her relatives, first among whom was, the President of the Lebanese Republic, Beshara el-Khoury, consequently, the founder of Daheshism was persecuted, stripped of his Lebanese nationality and exiled to a faraway place. This book is the tragic story of the persecution and martyrdom of Magda Hadad. It comprises her letters to Dr. Dahesh, not long after his exile, her memories, her dreams, the reverberation of her suicide in the newspapers. It also includes the elegies from Dr. Dahesh, her mother, the writer and artist Marie Hadad, and many others. The book also includes documents pertaining to the martyr and her suicide.

This book consists of the elegies written about the mother of Dr. Dahesh, Mrs. Shamonah (1887-1949), praising her virtues, intelligence, courage, and great faith in God.
Dr. Dahesh’s elegies are mostly about his mother during his persecution, and his promise to her to bring down the tyrant and restore his rights. However, most of his elegies after the persecution were about the glory of triumph and his hope to meet her in the next life. The book includes what the newspapers wrote on the death of Shamonah as well as telegrams expressing their sympathy. It also includes a letter from Laure, the wife of Beshara el- Khoury, the then President of the Lebanese Republic, offering reconciliation with her sister, Marie Hadad, and the response to that offer.

The writer of this book is a renowned Lebanese physician who was one of the first believers in Daheshism. He was a close companion of Dr. Dahesh for about forty years and sacrificed a great deal for the sake of his beliefs.
In this book, the author recounts how he came to adopt this belief, and the hardships he encountered consequently, the miracles of its founder that he witnessed, and the knowledge he acquired from its lofty spiritual teachings. In parallel narration the author offers us biographical details of Dr. Dahesh’s life—from his lineage to his death.
This book is a lifetime testimonial, undertaken by its author with the enthusiasm of a believer, and the sincerity of a truthful witness. In addition, he is one of the prominent landmarks in the history of the Daheshist faith.
